This page explains, in plain language, what information Sencio keeps, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
Sencio is an online booking calendar for boat owners in Costa Rica. It is run by its founder as a sole trader (persona física) in Costa Rica, who is responsible for your data.
What we collect
- Account details: names, email addresses, WhatsApp numbers, roles and language of the owner and team members, the company name, the plan and the payments we have recorded.
- Boats: their names and marinas.
- Bookings and blocked dates: the dates, trip types, client or agency names and the notes your team writes.
- Agency details: the business name, contact name, WhatsApp and email the owner saves, and the booking requests agencies send (client name, number of guests, notes and a WhatsApp number for updates).
- Receipts: deposit receipts that agencies upload with a request.
- Login and security logs: when you log in, short-lived counters that stop abuse (IP addresses are stored only as scrambled codes) and a record of each time our team opens an account for support.
Why we use it
- To run the calendar for you and your team.
- To share your availability through the links and embeds you send.
- To send notifications in the app and, if you turn them on, on WhatsApp.
- To keep Sencio secure, stop spam and fix problems.
- To manage your subscription.
We never sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who can see it
- Your team sees what the owner allows: their role, their permissions and the boats they can see.
- Agencies, share links and website embeds only see each day as Available or Unavailable: never names, booking types, notes or prices, unless the owner shares more (for example, an agency sees the status of its own requests).
- Our team may access account data when needed to provide support, fix problems and keep the service secure.
Where it's stored
Your data is stored with Supabase (database, logins and files) and Sencio runs on Vercel (hosting). Their servers may be outside Costa Rica, for example in the United States. When WhatsApp alerts are on, messages are sent through Meta's WhatsApp Business service. These providers only process data so Sencio can work.
How long we keep it
- While your account is open, we keep your data so the calendar works.
- If your account is paused or a trial ends, we keep it so you can come back.
- If you cancel, we delete your account data within 90 days, or sooner if you ask. Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires.
- In-app notifications are deleted after 90 days, and security counters after a short time.
Your rights
Under Costa Rica's Law 8968 (Ley de Protección de la Persona frente al Tratamiento de sus Datos Personales), you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it. Write to us by email or WhatsApp and we will answer within the time the law requires.
If you are an agency or a charter client whose details a boat owner saved in Sencio, you can also ask that owner directly.
Cookies
We only use essential cookies: one that keeps you logged in, and ones that remember your language and the boat you last looked at. When you log in, your browser also remembers your email (never your password) to fill it in next time. No advertising or tracking cookies. The demo video only loads, with its provider's cookies, when you press play.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change matters to you, we tell owners by WhatsApp or email first.
